Gypsy Picnic Returns in 2011

If there’s one thing last year’s Gypsy Picnic Trailer Food Festival showed, it’s that Austinites really love their food trailers. Due to that overwhelming demand to devour, Gypsy Picnic is rolling back down to Auditorium Shores Saturday, October 22nd from 11AM to 8PM for a rollicking rematch with Austin’s collective appetite.

Last year, over 15,000 trailer truck gourmands grubbed down and rocked out at the inaugural Gypsy Picnic, sampling and sipping from dozens of local food trucks and trailers while enjoying awesome live music and Auditorium Shores’ lovely green space. This time around, expect a bigger footprint and even more food trailers, leaving plenty of room to stretch out and no stomach unsatisfied.

With thousands moseying and munching, vendors will show off to food fans ready to fall in love. Then once again battle for bragging rights when the Gypsy Picnic Trailer Cook-Off returns, with both a panel of expert judges and the public selecting their best food trailer offerings from a variety of clever categories, including overall fan favorite.

Gypsy Picnic is a family-friendly affair, so if you’ve kiddos in tow, be sure to check out The Sideshow for story time, vaudeville and circus capers to wow the little ones. Dogs are welcome too! Best of all, admission is absolutely FREE, so tell your friends and bring out a whole crew of culinary commandos. There will be plenty of food and fun for everyone down at the 2011 Gypsy Picnic!
