Who Can Attend & How Much Does It Cost?

Admission is FREE! Gypsy Picnic is an all ages event. You must be 21 and over to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages on the Festival grounds.

What Beverages & Food Can I Bring?

Bring as much bottled water as you wish! Alcoholic beverages and other non-alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the Festival. The whole point of the shindig is to try Austin’s best trailer food in one convenient spot. Which is why no food may be brought to the Festival.

Can I Use My Credit Card?

Vendors will not be accepting credit cards, so be sure to bring your cash! There will be 4 ATM’s located on site throughout Auditorium Shores in case you run out.

How Much Is Food?

Prices vary based on the particular menu items offered by each trailer. Every Gypsy Picnic trailer will have one Sampler Menu Item for $3 or less.

2011 Dog Guidelines

  • Dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
  • Mutt Mitt stations will be provided throughout the park.
  • We ask that you do not bring retractable leashes.
  • make sure you provide your dog with plenty of water.
  • Please help prevent aggressive interactions between our four-legged attendees.
  • The food being provided by the Gypsy Picnic vendors is meant for humans and feeding to your dog could be harmful.

2011 Transportation & Parking

There is no on-site parking for Gypsy Picnic, but there are several easy options for getting down here. If you do drive, please be respectful of the Bouldin Creek residents and do not park in that neighborhood.

Area Parking
There is parking available on a first-come, first-served basis within easy walking distance of Auditorium Shores at the following locations:

  • 301 Congress ($7)
  • 300 San Antonio ($7)
  • One Texas Center Garage at Barton Springs Rd. & S. 1st St. ($7)
  • Austin Convention Center Parking Garage at 2nd & Brazos ($8)
  • Austin City Hall at Cesar Chavez & Guadalupe (Free until 5pm; $5)
  • Handicapped Parking is available at all of the above locations

Bicycles
Ample bike parking is available next to both event entrances on Riverside Dr, Visit the Mellow Johnny’s Bke Stations for any repairs or equipment needs. You must provide your own lock.

Taxis & Pedicabs
Taxis will be allowed convenient access to the entrance/exit, and will have a designated area for pick up and drop off.

Capital Metro
There are several routes that service Auditorium Shores. To map your ride, click over to the Cap Metro. Enter “Auditorium Shores” in the Ending field.

2011 Allowed & Prohibited Items

Picnickers and their belongings are subject to search upon entry or re-entry.

Allowed Items

  • Blankets
  • Umbrellas (small hand-held style)
  • Empty soft-sided coolers (small sized only, approx. 10″L x 7″W x 7″H)
  • Baby Strollers
  • Portable/collapsible chair (individual units only; no “double-wide” connecting chairs)
  • Regular-size/unframed backpacks
  • Factory-sealed water bottles
  • Plastic or aluminum water bottle (ie, Nalgene, Klean Kanteen or Sigg)
  • Binoculars
  • Personal camera equipment, i.e. digital cameras, point-&-click digital cameras or film cameras
  • Dogs. Must be on a leash at all times

Prohibited Items

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Alcohol (alcohol is sold at the Festival)
  • Glass containers
  • Food or beverages, except for factory-sealed water bottles
  • Skateboards, scooters, personal motorized vehicles, bicycles or carts
  • Fireworks or explosives
  • Large umbrellas
  • Non-collapsible chairs
  • Hard-sided coolers
  • Tents
  • No unauthorized/unlicensed vendors allowed
  • Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling, give-aways, etc

2011 Burn Ban

Austin is suffering one of the worst droughts in history and a burn ban is in effect for the City of Austin and surrounding areas. Gypsy Picnic asks that all attendees comply wih the no-smoking ban that remains in effect across all Austin public parks, including Auditorium Shores.

Medical Needs

There will be an emergency medical staff available during the duration of the Gypsy Picnic. Make sure to review the Official Map for the exact location of the Medical Tent.

Lost & Found

After the Festival, you can inquire about lost items at info@gypsypicnic.com. Valuables will be held for 30 days and then given to a local charity. C3 Presents will not be held liable for any unclaimed items.
