AUSTIN KNOWS HOW TO PICNIC!
The second annual Gypsy Picnic Trailer Food Festival was a sequel that Austin had to see…and taste. For one perfect autumn day, more than 35 of Austin’s finest food trailers rolled out to Auditorium Shores under a big Texas sky to feed a host of hungry fans, serenaded by a sweet line-up of live music and framed by the gorgeous Austin skyline.
Everyone was welcome, with families, friends and pets flooding in to sample the great grub, rock out and keep Austin weird. There were activities galore: a parade of pooches, story time and face-painting for the kids and a sweet Toyota Prius v giveaway for the adults, just to name a few. Quite simply, it was the perfect day for a picnic and the incredible people of Austin made all of it possible. Thanks, everyone.

THE KGSR FAN FAVORITE
Foodies texted in their picks for the KGSR Fan Favorite in huge numbers. At the end of the day, the winner was clear: East Side King. Along with a big boost to their rep, they scored an awesome advertising package with the radio station, and the ownership rights to the coveted Gypsy Picnic Cook Off trophy.

CONQUERORS AT THE COOK-OFF
Things got hot-and-heavy for the second edition of the Gypsy Picnic Cook-Off. Competition wasn’t just fierce at the Cook-Off, though. Food trailers went hitch-to-hitch for bragging rights and a deluxe grab bag of Gypsy Picnic goodies in six culinary categories. It wasn’t easy, with a 10-person panel of picky palates judging every bite, but check out who came out on top:
Best Taco: Torchy’s Tacos
Best on a Bun: East Side King
Best Vegetarian: kebabalicious
Best Ethnic: mmmpanadas
Best Drink: MamboBerry
Best Dessert: Hey Cupcake!
